Using Logitech Harmony 300 with Acer C20 DLP Beamer/Projector

As the original remote control provided by ACER for the ACER C20 Pico Projector, is only sold in a set with a mini tripod and an iPhone adapter, I've tried to use my Logitech Harmony 300 at first without success.
There is a ACER C20 profile in the Logitech database, but the projector is not responding to any command.

The FIX is:
Download the Acer K11 profile (which is a quite similar device) an change some of the commands!
Do not forget to SYNC the remote control!

Enter - OK (Enter)
Next Source - Info - (Auto search source)

Now I have a fine working remote for the ACER C20!

  1. Hi there, i also have a C20, i tried asking acer suport for the remote code but i got no answer from them, do u now the code for the universal remote?

Does your C20 play well movies without seeming a bit jumpy?

    Thanks

  2. Sorry, I do not have a code either. I can just tell that it should work with a logitech harmony using the ACER K11 profile with some changes.

What do you mean by "a bit jumpy"?

  3. I mean that its doesn't seem a very fluid video, when i use my multimedia disk the movies are much more fluid and smoother frame to frame stepping.

  4. I haven't tested the media player function. I think there can only be used some very specific media files. According to the user's manual H.264 (Baseline) with a max. resolution of 720*576 should work. It does not say anything about the highest possible bitrate.

  5. Hi there,

I got a question. I set up my Harmony 300 with the Acer K11 profile, navigating in the C20 menu is working fine, but the Power Button doesn't seem to work correctly. In fact I'm able to Power off the C20 but I'm not able to power the C20, I always have to use the device Power button ? Do you have the same problem or am I doing something wrong ?

    1. The same here! I can turn it off with the Logitech Harmony 300 but I cannot turn it on again. But I do not know yet, if this function is provided by the original ACER remote control.

    2. It should I guess, otherwise a remote control doesn't make any sense , does it ? I mean e.g. you mounted the C20 on your ceiling for maybe, some kind of office use, presentation or whatever, the remote control only makes sense by controlling the beamer remotely. Imagine you wanting to start a presentation but first need to call the janitor for a ladder. I guess I will call Acer Support on monday to find out if the original "magic" RC (sold with useless crap in one bundle...aarrrgh) is able to turn on the C20 remotely.

    3. Please let me know, what the ACER support is saying. Would be quite interesting, if the original remote is providing a "power on" function.
An if, could someone please fix the ACER C20 profile in the Logitech Harmony database?

  6. Any new Information concerning the on/off problem??

  7. Hello, i think that won´t power on because the projector don´t have standby mode, when its off you need to push the power button to turn it on. About installing it on the ceiling i won´t advise because the focus is very unstable and you will need to use the ladder very often :) , in fact for me that the only problem in the c20, the fragile focus wheel that very often needs to be corrected.

  8. I like it so much that i replace the tv for it in the living room. Today i have just made the cable to conect my old ps2 and finish the multimedia stand for the projector,tv cable box,ps2,multimedia hard drive and surround system. I project direct on the wall, its painted in ice white, the image its about 75" screen.

    1. Can you focus on a screen size of 75"?

    2. Sorry bad conversion, in Portugal we don´t use inch measures, the screen size is about 64" , i´m projecting 3,20m from the wall, the quality is very good. To focus more easily i normally put the cable box in the tv guide to check if the letters are focus.

    3. I experience a slight lack of focus on the right side of the picture. Do you have this issue as well?

    4. Yes i also experience that lack, the focus wheel is very sensible you need to adjust it very carefully and patiently. In my opinion the only thing bad in the c20 is that focus wheel system.

  9. Hi guys,
sorry for my delay, but the so called "Internet" had a horrible connection loss from few days ago until now.

I called the ACER support hotline and the smart guy told me, that the seperate sold RC for the C20 is able to turn the device on AND off . Obviously the K11 profile in the Harmony 300 is kind of weired related to the Power On / Off command. May be the power off signal or code is the same as at the C20 but probably the Power on signal or code is diffrent.

Anyway its all bad that Logitech "supports" the C20 in the Harmony-Series profiles but doesn't equip it with proper codes or commands.

  10. If anyone finds out the remote code let me know. Has i will just need to use the remote for some few presentations of my works, i ratter wait to find that code and use a normal and cheap universal remote.

  11. Partial victory achieved.
I decided to order the Acer C20 RC. I will copy the original code from it to my Harmony 300, and send the original RC back.
I guess thats the only way to test if the support guy told the truth, if I'm able to power off the C20 with my Harmony 300, I will tell you about my success.

    2. Hello!

I'm also using K11 profile with my harmony, but to power it on... i have to press the button...

Did you achieved turning it on?

And anyone know if it's possible to set a shutdown timer to it? Or if it's possible to make it shutdown when there is no input signal?

      Thanks!
